Katie is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Wild Shore Festival for New Music. Wild Shore was founded in 2012 with fellow Alaskans Conrad Winslow, Andie Springer and Kelsey Christian to bring contemporary music to Alaska and collaborate with Alaskan Artists. Our mission states that Wild Shore is a presenting organization dedicated to bringing adventurous new chamber music, with an emphasis on living composers, to the communities in and around Kachemak Bay, Alaska. Wild Shore's sole purpose is to cultivate and stimulate south-central Alaska's new music community, while supporting the already fertile artistic culture. It fosters collaboration between some of the nation's finest classically-trained musicians and the extraordinarily creative artists, songwriters, and musicians on the Kenai Peninsula; it presents outreach concerts in nearby native villages; and it offers instrumental workshops for students of all ages. Through these activities, Wild Shore aims to create an inspiring concert series set amidst the glaciers, volcanoes, 24-foot tides and endless days of summer in Kachemak Bay.
